How does HotKettle Work?
First, HotKettle scans the queries from services like HARO, SourceBottle and other sources including its own. Then it selects the queries relevant to you, filtered by your choice of keywords and organizes them in ascending order of deadline, based on the timezone you are in. Do I need to register with HARO to use HotKettle?
If your interest is only to view the queries relevant to you, then you do not need to subscribe to HARO. However, if you wish to respond to HARO queries then you will require to register with it. Using the same email address to register HARO and HotKettle will make it simpler. Can I control the frequency of alerts sent to me?
Yes. In the settings you can select the option if you would like the alert to be sent a) once a day, b) once a week or c) all. For once a day, the 1st alert of the day is sent. If b) is selected then the 1st alert of Monday is sent. For c), every alert will be sent to you. The option of once a day is selected by default. In addition, there is an option to 'Pause Alerts' which can be selected if you do not wish to receive alerts for sometime in future. You will need to manually uncheck this option to restart the alerts. Note that HotKettle sends alerts a few minutes after each HARO alert is sent. This is done 3 times a day, Monday to Friday. There are no alerts sent on weekends. How can I increase queries in my alerts?
By adding more relevant keywords related to your business or expertise and using both words and phrases in keywords. For example, if your interest is in "global warming", you might want to add keywords like: environment, global warming, climate change, greenhouse, carbon tax, deforestation. As another example, if your interest is in tablets, a set of keywords could be "ipad, galaxy pad, microsoft surface, matepad, mediapad, amazon fire, pixel slate, acer iconia". What is the information within an alert?
HotKettle matches your keywords with thousands of active queries and filters them according to your preferences. The alert has the matched queries and a list of your own keywords for your reference. The queries are sorted in ascending order of blogger's deadlines. Your time zone is factored in when calculating the deadline. A sample alert can be studied here. I have registered. Why am I not receiving any alerts?
It is most likely due to one of the following 3: i) There are no keywords set; ii) The keywords do not match any query and iii) The alerts are going into your SPAM folder. Can I use HotKettle as an author?
Authors, Journalists, Bloggers and News Reporters can register themselves and post their queries in HotKettle. Based on the keywords of experts, the queries will be picked up in their alerts as long as deadline has not passed. Is HotKettle Free to use?
Yes. HotKettle's basic service of receiving alerts based on your keywords is FREE to use. |
